Medical Assistant
This ABHES accredited Medical Assistant training program will prepare students for an entry level position as a medical assistant. It provides students with a 7 week externship in a medical facility, in which students will practice the skills learned in the classroom portion of the program. The Medical Assistant Program Offers:
  • Theory and practical application in the fundamentals of medical diagnostic techniques
  • Study of the anatomy and physiology of the body and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Knowledge of standard clinical and laboratory procedures
  • Training with regard to venipuncture, injections, electrocardiography (EKG), measurement of vital signs, and preparation for physical and specialty exams
  • Required administrative procedures for use in a physician's office or clinic
  • An introduction to medical insurance coding and claim processing
  • An externship in a medical facility

Practical Technologist in Radiology
Students of this radiology program will learn to position and x-ray the chest, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, knee, foot and ankle. The program also teaches how to perform electrocardiograms, venipuncture, routine laboratory tests, x-ray film processing, and related back-office patient care procedures. >> Request more information

The Practical Technologist in Radiology Program Offers:
  • Theory and practical application in the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology
  • The fundamentals radiographic physics
  • Introduction to specific disease processes and trauma that affect the various body systems, with emphasis placed on the respiratory and skeletal systems
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Training in the x-ray lab with regard to positioning of the chest, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, knee, foot and ankle
  • The skills to perform venipuncture, injections, urinalysis, electrocardiography and x-ray film processing
  • Patient care and basic office administrative procedures
  • An externship in a medical facility

Please note: The responsibilities for a Practical Technologist in Radiology (Limited Scope) are not the same as those for a Radiologic Technologist (RT). An RT (who must be ARRT certified) is allowed to perform other duties, such as x-raying the abdomen. Practical Technologist in Radiology (Limited Scope) are not able to perform these expanded duties, nor are they offered ARRT certification.

The Practical Technologist in Radiology program is approved by the Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE). The Medical Assisting program is accredited by the Accrediting Board of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
